Experimental Aircraft Association Ultralight Chapter 122

1AR9, Country Air Estates, Lonoke, AR 72086; E-MAIL

Q:     Do I have to be a member of the EAA to join Central Arkansas Sport Flyers (CASF)?

A:     No, but you can't hold office or vote per the EAA by-laws. While not a requirement, membership in the national EAA organization has many benefits including a monthly magazine and discounts from participating companies. To join, please email Sandra Newman or Dan McCroskey.

Q:     Do I need to own an aircraft to be a member of CASF?

A:     Definitely not! The only requirement is that you enjoy aviation and fellowship.

Q:     CASF is an EAA Ultralight Chapter. Are you limited to Ultralights?

A: No. In fact many of our members don't fly Ultralights but experimental and certificated aircraft. The Chapter is open to all aviation enthusiasts. The chapter's main mission is to promote Ultralight and Sport Pilot categories. Many of our members are also members of North Little Rock EAA Chapter 165, which is oriented toward experimental and certificated aircraft.

Q: How old is the Central Arkansas Sport Flyers EAA Chapter?

A: The CASF chapter has been in existence as an ultralight club since 1990. It was  affiliated with the United States Ultralight Association until October 2003, then it became an EAA Chapter (EAA UL Chapter 122).  Membership is open to all with an interest in aviation. We have over 70 members who own, build, & fly aircraft from powered parachutes, paragliders, trikes & 3-axis ultralights, Cessna, Piper, Pacer, Citabria, Mooney, Navion, Beechcraft, Swift, Starduster, Champ, and more. We have members that enjoy radio controlled model aircraft as well. Members simply enjoy aviation, and love to participate in business, technical, and social functions. Our main social function is the monthly breakfast served on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Country Air Estates, 1AR9, Lonoke, AR from 8:30-11:00 AM.

Q:  How long has the Central Arkansas Sport Flyers been sponsoring a monthly breakfast?

A:  The first breakfast was served on the 2nd Saturday in July 2003 under a canopy tent next to a concrete pad which is now a hanger. We have not missed a breakfast since. We serve breakfast rain or shine. Best breakfast around! Please come join us.
